We’re supported by world leaders in our industry as they offer technical and scientific guidance to our team. Our Scientific Advisory Board is responsible for supporting our scientific and technical work as we develop our platform technology. As we continue to grow and evolve, these individuals are instrumental to our success.
According to the American Liver Foundation, an estimated 100 million people in the U.S. have liver disease in some form, whether or not they are diagnosed. Those with liver disease have limited options for treatment, such as organ transplantation. However, the limited availability of healthy, transplantable organs creates a need for alternative treatments, a need that is only growing over time. Primary human hepatocytes, or liver cells, may be a viable alternative treatment, but a finite quantity exists in the market, impacting research and clinical development options.
Our platform technology creates opportunities for new, innovative applications of primary human hepatocytes to be developed and tested to address liver failure and rare diseases. By propagating high-quality, dependable, and accessible liver cells, Cytotheryx is fulfilling the need for better access to these cells, creating a new gold standard for toxicology and safety in drug development and enabling important human therapeutics.
